The New School Year!
What a summer it has been! While you were out recuperating, taking classes, teaching summer school, traveling, planning for this year, we have been working on improving Unified Classroom training with some great documentation, going to conferences and preparing these blogs and upcoming podcasts. It’s great to be back working with teachers and I hope that PD this week was great for you!
For me, I took part in two online PD summit called #DitchSummit and CUESummit and you’ll learn a lot about that in the coming weeks and I can’t wait to share all the inspiration I got from them at ISTE and the online conference. I also found out that I was accepted into the Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert Program (MIEE) and I’m slowly moving up the Flipgrid and Wakelet ranks (I’ve earned my first badges!).
This year we are going to take deep dives into Student Centered Learning, Gamification, Game-Based Learning, Digital Literacy, Digital Citizenship and more!
For those that don’t know ISTE is a group of educators from around the world who come together to share, collaborate and encourage each other with the amazing things they are doing in their school districts. I left inspired and can’t wait to work with teachers to use the things I learned. If you are ever looking for Professional Development opportunities, ISTE is the one I would suggest that you go to it, next year the big conference is in Anaheim!
A few of our summer highlights:
- CSforAll Tools, Lessons and so much more
- Brand New Help Desk with loads of Knowledge Based Articles
- ISTE tools
- Unified Classroom Training Tools
- Microsoft Stream has all the training tools and inspiration you can use
- #DitchSummit & CueSummit Online PD
- Adobe Spark (awesome, free program)
- Sketchnoting (it’s a thing, trust me)
- Anchor and Soundtrap for Podcasting
We are gearing up for our best year yet and we’re excited to share with you everything that we have learned and are doing! As you can see, blog posts are going up on Tuesdays, Podcasts go up on Thursdays and Favorite Quote Friday is moving to Motivational Monday! Leave us a note in the comments with all the things you’re looking forward to this year!
